Ferrari 360 manual conversion, replace timing belts, water pump  

  • Client ordered their 360 with F1 due to it being the latest tech at the time, requested conversion to manual gated shift as over time the pleasure of driving has become more interesting than the tech that manages systems in the car for the driver
  • As timing belts had not been changed in awhile and water pump was weeping, the 360 needed a major service as well so now was the time to do the conversion with the major service

Remove paddle shift console, F1 brake pedel, F1 shift system, gearbox
  • Remove seats to simplify interior access
  • Remove F1 centre console
  • Remove F1 brake pedal to replace with new titanium clutch and brake pedals
  • Setup pedal switches for the clutch and brake
  • Remove engine bay trim panels, oil tank, engine bay cross brace, exhaust muffler and cats
  • Remove F1 gearbox selector and pump system
  • Remove gearbox
  • Remove clutch pressure plate, disc and flywheel, spigot bearing
Install manual shifter interior, manual shifter mechanism for gearbox, replace clutch and clutch release bearing
  • Remove bracketes for F1 console
  • Install gated gear shifter
  • Remove rubber F1 no shift cables blanking plug to install gear shift cables with cable body sealing plug
  • Disconnect wiring harness to F1 ECU
  • Install engine start connector
  • Refit centre console unit
  • Install cable gear selector unit to gearbox
  • Remove F1 release clutch and sensor
  • Install manual clutch release bear
  • Refit resurfaced flywheel and new clutch pressure plate and disc
Replace water pump, timing belts last changed in 2012...
  • Noticed date on timing belts as 2012 who knew they could last 12 year
  • Remove accessory drive belts
  • Remove water pump to replace with new one
  • Set engine in TDC for cylinder 1 timing position
  • Remove rear cam covers to view cam shafts timing marks to confirm correct timing for camshafts
  • Remove crank pulley
  • Release tension on timing belt for 1 to 4 cylinder bank to remove belt, tensioner bearing, and tensioner
  • Install new tensioner, timing belt, tensioner bearing, set tension with belt frequency gauge
  • Release tension on timing belt for 5 to 8 cylinder bank to remove belt, tensioner bearing, and tensioner
  • Install new tensioner, timing belt, tensioner bearing, set tension with belt frequency gauge
  • Rotate engine numerous time to confirm timing, belt tension, all is ready
Install gearbox, setup shifter, refit exhaust, mass air flow sensors, air box
  • Install gearbox
  • Attach gear shifter cables to gear selector mechanism on gearbox and adjust linkage for proper selection
  • Bleed clutch and brake system
  • Install engine cross brace, oil tank, exhaust cats, muffler, rear pipes, mass air flow sensors, air box
Sam at 360Trev setups the ECUs with tablet access, install ECUs engine bay panels
  • Remove right and left ECUs from engine bay
  • Setup online session with Sam from Trev360 in San Fransisco to update software for ECU
  • Install ECUs, reset fuel mapping with throttle pedal process
  • Run engine to confirm all is setup properly
  • Test drive to confirm shifting joy
